Academic drama theatre named after Slonov

The Academic drama theatre in Saratov is one of the oldest and most famous theatres in Russia. It was founded in 1803, and already in the second half of XIX century Saratov became not only an administrative, but also the cultural capital of the Volga region, Saratov drama theatre playing a great role in it. Since that times people of the Volga region haven’t lost their love and respect to this theatre, every performance is welcomed by a full auditorium.

Its repertoire consists of classical plays (Shakespeare, Moliere, Bulgakov, Gogol) and contemporary plays by modern playwrights.
